Everything I do To Drive Traffic Through Social Media

All the people who fully understand the amount of time it takes to get good enough traffic through SEO and how much money it takes for getting traffic through paid advertising would realize the importance of social media. If you’re able to drive traffic through social media, you can save up a lot of money.

You won’t need to spend a fortune on paid advertising, and you won’t require to get stressed over no traffic. Does that sound good?

Let me tell you something that would sound even better. Today, I am going to share everything I do to drive traffic through social media. I handle some different websites in various niches, and I am going to share how I get traffic to those sites.

One thing you must understand is that the key to driving traffic through social media is to BE CONSISTENT. If you do everything I mention here for one day, it won’t make ANY difference. But if you do this regularly for a week, you will see some positive results. If you do this for a month, you will see significant results. Try it!

Let’s break this post into different parts on the basis of the social media platforms I use.

Facebook

Before I tell you about what I do on Facebook to drive traffic through social media, I must say about two essential things you require – you need a Facebook Page and a Facebook Profile.

Facebook Page is more for branding purposes unless you’re ready to spend money on boosting a post.

So, here’s what I do after I hit publish on a post.

  • Share the post on my facebook timeline
  • Share the post in five relevant Facebook groups.
  • Interact with the members of those Facebook groups for 5-10 minutes.
  • Share the post on my Facebook Page
  • Reshare the post next day in 5 more groups (Different ones)
  • After a week in 5 more groups (Different ones)
  • After a month in 5 more groups.

Overall, I share my post in 20 various groups and interact with people of these groups. That helps me build a network and get good traffic to my site. One arrow, two targets accomplished. 😉

How I get likes on Facebook Pages?

For this, I use the “use Facebook as XYZ page” option. Once I log in, I follow relevant pages and leave 5-10 comments on different pages.

Most of the times, those pages return the favor by doing the same for my page, and that helps in amplifying the reach of the Facebook Page.

Twitter

Twitter is an excellent source to drive traffic to your website. But it always depends on how you use it. Here’s what I do.

  • Share the post on Twitter once I hit publish.
  • Share the post next day, next week and next month.
  • I always change the headlines for the posts to make sure my tweets don’t seem to be spammy.
  • I schedule all my tweets using HootSuite or Buffer and make sure they go live at specific intervals.
  • I keep following at least 50 new people every day that are relevant to the niche and unfollowing the inactive or non-followers.
  • I participate in Twitter chats and try to share the links to my posts. Here, one needs to make sure one shares only links relevant to the discussion of the Twitter conversations.
  • I try to interact with at least ten people a day on Twitter and create REAL connections with them.

Google+

Though a lot of us won’t prefer to use Google+, one cannot deny that it makes an enormous difference in the SEO. Having a good social media presence on Google+ can boost your SEO. So, it’s important to be active and efficient in driving traffic through Google+.

Here’s what I do with this social media channel:

  • I have a separate Google+ profile and page and try to keep both the profiles active.
  • Share 2-3 posts per day on the profile and page.
  • Share my post links in relevant Google+ communities ( 5 communities per day)
  • Reshare my posts after a week and then after a month
  • Follow relevant people in the niche
  • Interact with people in communities and the people I follow

Instagram

To be honest, I am not that experienced with Instagram. I haven’t focused on this social media channel that much till now. But as I have a new project that requires me to be effective on Instagram, here are the things I am doing each day

  • Share three posts per day
  • Follow 10-20 accounts relevant to my niche
  • Search for a particular and appropriate hashtag and comment on at least ten posts.
  • Use lots of hashtags in my posts (8-10)
  • Then comment on my old posts with some new hashtags
  • Try to click good pictures for the final nail in the coffin.

Pinterest

Yes, I am not focusing on this platform that much but there was time when I needed to produce good results through Pinterest, and that’s what I did then:

  • Pin 5-10 posts per day
  • Make boards that resonate with the kind of keywords I use in my posts
  • Use descriptive images and pin images with optimum Pinterest image size
  • Follow relevant people each day (10 per day)
  • Comment on at least ten appropriate pins per day.

Do you notice the pattern here? Did you count how many times I used the word RELEVANT? Building connections with relevant people on social media is the key to being successful and drive traffic through social media. These people act as social media influencers and help you with influencer marketing that is required to amplify your social media reach.

Apart from sharing posts on these channels, I share my posts on:

  1. StumbleUpon: Correct category and using the platform for at least 10 minutes is necessary. Don’t use it as a link dumping platform if you want results from StumbleUpon.
  2. Reddit: Share a link to a relevant category and use the site for 5-10 minutes. Do your keyword research on Reddit and you will be able to utilize these 5-10 minutes effectively.
  3. Quora: Try to answer some queries with an intent to help and find where you can include your posts’ links without looking spammy.
  4. Blogging communities: Find one community where you’re most comfortable with. I use Indiblogger and share your posts there regularly.
  5. Commenting: Leave long and intelligent comments on five different blogs relevant to your niche. They bring a GREAT amount of traffic.

That’s it. This is how you can drive traffic through social media. Sorry, this is in fact how I do it. Your way may be entirely different or more efficient. Try my way and compare.
